That is an introduction to getting IBM’s OS/360 working system loaded and operating on the Hercules emulator for the System/370, ESA/390, and z/Structure methods. It assumes you might have some familiarity with the 370, and with OS; specifically, it’s worthwhile to have some understanding of JCL, and of OS/360 (or later variations, like MVS or OS/390) utilization and operation. It doesn’t purport to be an introduction to the world of the 370.
This is a little more sophisticated to arrange than simply about some other emulator or VM on the market. An ideal weekend undertaking for folks with the suitable talent set and inclination.
